Locally operated and governed by a volunteer board of directors, Vail Health includes a 56-bed hospital, accredited by The Joint Commission, and a 24\/7 emergency department in the town of Vail, with a Level III Trauma Center and onsite helipad for necessary medical transports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vail Health provides a wide array of locations and services with access points which include Colorado Mountain Medical, Beaver Creek Medical Center, urgent care clinics in Vail, Avon, Dillon, and Eagle, Edwards medical campus, Eagle Healthcare Center and a multi-specialty clinic in Dillon, Colorado. Howard Head Sports Medicine offers physical therapy services at 10 locations and works closely with our internationally renowned orthopaedic partners at&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dillonsurgerycenter.com\/about\/the-steadman-clinic\">The Steadman Clinic<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dillonsurgerycenter.com\/about\/vail-summit-orthopaedics-and-neurosurgery\">Vail-Summit Orthopaedics &amp; Neurosurgery<\/a><\/strong>. In addition, Vail Health&#8217;s Shaw Cancer Center and Sonnenalp Breast Center are the region\u2019s only fully accredited cancer treatment center and comprehensive breast center.<br><br>Vail Health, formerly The Vail Clinic, was founded in 1965, and officially became \u201cVail Valley Medical Center\u201d in 1980. That was its first year as a full-service hospital with one primary location and 25 physicians.
